ZenVR:
An Exploratory Evaluation of VR Mindfulness Practices
Purpose: To measure participants’ familiarity with mindfulness lessons and VR usage, track their socioemotional behaviors through the progress made within ZenVR lessons, and evaluate whether the application offered positive strategies to incorporate in real-world experiences.

Over the course of 3 months, the Training Workforce and Development (TWDB) Data Evaluation team conducted an evaluation on usage of Virtual Reality (VR) as a mindfulness tool at the Centers for Disease Control. We performed key Informant interviews as well as REDCap surveys of the selected 14 participates to capture our supporting data making note of their behaviors, usage, and determine if the tool was helpful in their day-to-day activities. Through our data-supported story, we explained our methodology approaches and went into detail of both the quantitative and qualitative findings showcasing graphs and direct quotes gathered from our participants. We also were able to reveal some implications, strengths, and recommendations that came from our participants’ feedback.
